Building the next generation of on-set technology—
rooted in real production experience and driven by
a commitment to simplicity, reliability, and
innovation
Founder Background — Adam Knapp
Adam Knapp is an end-to-end product developer with over a decade of experience creating widely adopted technologies for the film and television industry. His expertise spans product concept creation, system architecture, UX/UI, design for manufacture, and regulatory compliance.
As Director of R&D at Ratpac Controls, and later through Adam Knapp Systems, he led the development of numerous solutions that have fundamentally shaped modern lighting workflows across film, television, commercials, and music videos. His collaborators and clients include many of the industry’s leading equipment manufacturers.
Innovations
Adam is best known as the creator of the AKS (Adam Knapp System), a portable network bridge developed with Santoro Systems for Ratpac Controls. The AKS has become a standard tool on major productions worldwide, valued for its reliability and ease of use.
He also developed Constellation, a browser-based platform enabling multiple devices to operate seamlessly on a single network—now a core part of the AKS ecosystem.
Earlier in his career, Knapp created the Cintenna, widely recognized as the first reliable wireless DMX system designed specifically for film production, helping usher in the modern era of wireless lighting control. Thousands of units remain in use today.
Additional projects include ARRI SkyLink (developed in partnership with ARRI and LumenRadio), Ratpac Unity, the PDB (Power Data Box), and specialized systems such as the Hero Car Dimmer used in the film Baby Driver. His work has consistently focused on solving real-world challenges on set through innovative, practical design.
The Development of CineFi Wireless
CineFi represents the next evolution of Knapp’s work—bringing together years of hands-on production experience and technical innovation into a new wireless networking system designed for the future of lighting.
Developed with the support of a skilled engineering team, the Fox Box and broader CineFi ecosystem build on this legacy—delivering a more powerful, scalable, and intuitive approach to on-set connectivity.
What industry professionals are saying after testing the Fox Box:
“I want to be the first to buy it, even if it’s just a prototype!”
"The Fox Box is the first product that meets my needs.”
